Dolcetto 2019

$41.00
Award-Winner

Dolcetto meaning "little sweet one" in Italian, presents itself as a medium-bodied wine with floral aromatics and silky-smooth mouthfeel. Originating in the hills of Piedmont, Italy, found a home in the sandy red soils of the Texas High Plains right on Jet Wilmeth's Diamante Doble Vineyards in Tokio, TX.

As this varietal is always seeking warm climates, this wonderful grape is completely suitable for the Texas High Plains. As it reaches us for production, we take great care to ensure the best expression of the fruit comes forward. Aging in a blend of French and American oak barrels, more neutral than new, allow fruit and tannins to meld. Upon opening, we’re greeted with mellow floral characteristics along with beautiful baking spice aromas, later opening to reveal bright red fruits, and herbal tea.
