Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Canada Family 2018

Once again, the Canada Family Vineyards produced a phenomenally robust Cabernet Sauvignon right here in Texas. Located just outside the town of Plains, TX, about 7 miles east from the New Mexico border, the vineyard sits upon a large limestone shelf, giving the wine its characteristic minerality and subtle herbal notes.
This 2018 harvest that rides right on the heels of one of the best vintages in Texas this decade. The nose of red current, tobacco, and clove comes across as soon as the wine hits the glass, quickly developing the signature green bell pepper along with baking spice and bright raspberries that Cabernet Sauvignon is known to display. Following is a beautiful dark cherry, as well as hints of anise. Mid-palate is rich, with balanced tannins and notes of dark plum and espresso. This gorgeous wine finishes with lingering floral and notes of dark spice – a great representation of Cabernet, thus proving that Texas can, and does produce world class Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aromatics: Plum, raspberry, hibiscus, clove, and allspice
On the Palate: Dark cherry, red currant, and finishing with lingering espresso and cacao
