The 2017 Tempranillo is a blend of four Texas High Plains Tempranillo vineyards with the addition of a new-to-Becker Touriga Nacional from Six Harts Vineyards, also of the Texas High Plains AVA. 

Tempranillo is a balanced wine with layers of fruit and tannin, allowing varietal expression. Upon decanting, you are greeted by a deep floral nose and dried cherries, followed by dark notes of earth and tobacco, developing into aromas of cooking spices and red fruits. Flavors of black pepper, mild smoke, unfolds displaying intriguing notes of red fruit and herbs.

On the Palate: Currant, black pepper, tobacco and coffee, minerality and toasted oak

I’m a white wine drinker, and I love this red. It’s smooth and bold without the bitterness that some reds have. So glad I tried it.
