An award-winning newspaper reporter before entering the colorful and ambitious world of Texas politics, 6th-generation Texan, Melvin E. Edwards will be signing and selling his newest book "The Strength of a Thousand Sons: More Stories from My Texas Family" at our Tasting Room on Main Street (307 East Main, Fredericksburg, TX 78624).
His book was released in July 2022. He also has been recently awarded (October 2022) the Pencraft Award for Literary Excellence!
He has also published an earlier book "Eyes of Texans: From Slavery to the Texas Capitol".
He started his career writing about Texas high school football and within a few years, he was a speechwriter for the Lieutenant Governor and Governor of Texas. He just released his second book and both have reached the Top 5 on Amazon book charts.
He has the rarest Myers-Briggs personality type in the world, which could explain why he loves cowboy hats, boots, and baseball, and is able to imagine stories so big, that they make even Texas seem small.
He recently returned to Texas with his wife, Kimberly, and twin stepsons after living abroad in Maryland.
