Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Wilmeth Vineyards 2018
2018 brought record-setting hot summer temperatures, with increased fall rain. All this means really ripe Cabernet Sauvignon, with ripe fruits and heightened herbaceous notes. An oh-so approachable wine, it opens with perfumey acacia flowers and that classic cinnamon-like West Texas red soil terrior. . A deep garnet color is indicative of the over two and a half years aging in one year old American oak barrels, allowing the fruits to dominate with a finish of smooth tannins and cacao.
Aromatics: Spicy white and black pepper, florals, licorice, dark cherries
On the Palate: Red plums, ripe raspberries, fennel, medium acidity and long-lasting, yet subtle tannins.
