Spice and pepper followed by red plum, strawberries and anise…this wine provides a wonderful floral and spice aromatic that will not stop. Following with a bright finish of currant, subtle hints of cherry and anise.  There you have a Texas Counoise.

Counoise, pronounced Koon-wah, is a light bodied red wine varietal that has traditionally been used to blend with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre and is one of the sanctioned variatels used in Chateauneuf du Pape.

Careful, gentle processing of this grape during the warm fermentation allows florals and fruit characters to present. Aging in neutral oak barrels promotes the warmth, accenting the inherent fruit, yielding strawberries, light plums, mild licorice with a soft, tannin structure.

Aromatics: Dried rose petals, cherry, notes of black tea and mild dried herbs

On the Palate: Dried cherries, strawberries, red plums, anise and brown baking spices - creating a soft creamy mouthfeel with medium acidity and light tannins

One of the best new offerings from Becker’s. I love it. Bought six bottles and each one reaffirms what a great wine this is.

My wife and I love this wine! The Becker description and tasting notes are spot on. While we plan on drinking it year-round, its spicy floral cherry flavors, as well as it's beautiful color, makes it especially nice during the holidays!

Locked down with the Corona Virus, I was looking for something on the other side of dry. I found it. This wine proudly displays all the flavor-notes in Becker's claims. When you need your spirits up, Becker comes through.

This was our first Counoise and it is wonderful! Great with salmon or just a glass on its own. I do prefer chilled. We are definitely adding this wine as a ready stand-by to share with friends.

Wow! This is the best wine I have ever tasted. Well-balanced and lovely fruitiness for a red wine. Went back and ordered more. I will be drinking this all summer!
