White Wing 2019
Once again, we are excited to share the latest Estate White Wing. Some of the earliest plantings on the Becker Estate, these grapes provide the lush fruit balanced with herbaceous notes we come to expect from Sauvignon Blanc. While the lime zest and mineral tones are reminiscent of Bordeaux-style Sauvignon blancs, our warmer growing conditions lend riper fruit notes to the palate, white peaches and passionfruit. Fermentation took place in equal parts stainless steel tank and 100% new French oak barrels, yielding the balance of bright fruits and creamy mid-palate, minerality and ample, silky tasted almond and vanilla, for a full, well-rounded wine.
With rich mouthfeel, crisp fruit, zesty acidity, this wine is begging to be paired with an array of foods, so be creative. Bring on the stinkiest cheese, fresh herbs and vegetables from your new garden... even asparagus! This wine will open beautifully with a small decant before serving.
Aromatics: Beeswax, honeysuckle, melons, herbaceous notes of fresh grass after a rain, hints of white florals
On the Palate: White Peach, Passionfruit, honeysuckle, vanilla, creamy middle palate with a lingering soft fruit and vibrant acid finish
